About Katie!
Katie Robinson is a painter whose artistic journey has been shaped by her background in the natural sciences. With a doctorate in the physical sciences, her works are informed by her interest in light, landscape, and colour. She was born in Otago, and her paintings frequently reflect aspects of her time spent in Central Otago, with both interior and landscape scenes.
Katie had her first solo show, "First Brush with the Elements," in 2023 at Beautiful Things Gallery in Auckland.
Katie has exhibited in several exhibitions and was selected as a finalist in several awards.
She has family in Auckland, but her heart is in Alexandra, Central Otago. She's lucky to travel between the two locations throughout the year, with a painting studio in each.
